Welcome to the Aiello Lab at Seton Hill University!
In the Aiello Lab we integrate interdisciplinary methods to address key questions on how animals move. We take different approaches to better understand how the nervous system and the mechanical system (limbs and their underlying components) work together to generate animal movement, sense their own movement, and extract information from the environment.
Our lab takes advantage of several different systems to answer these questions. We currently study the evolution of neuromechanical systems using a diverse superfamily of moths, Bombycoidea. We also study the evolution of the blinking behavior to better understand how and why new behaviors originate. If you are a Seton Hill University undergraduate and you are interested in conducting research in my lab, please reach out to me via email! |
